At the time of the procedure with the T-CAT, after the adaptation of its profiles to the eiDAS regulations and the consequent separation of the authentication and signature certificate , it is possible that certain applications show both certificates and it is necessary select the correct one depending on the type of procedure (authentication or signature).
The way both certificates are displayed and which will help you to know which one to choose, will be (GIS) by signature and (AUT) by authentication .
NOTE: Please note that these profiles (GIS and AUT) can only be distinguished from Class 1 T-CAT certificates and Pseudonym T-CAT certificates.
This is the information that will be displayed on each of the certificates.
- T-CAT (Signature) : Name and two surnames according to identity document (DNI / Passport) + “- DNI” + NIF of the public employee + “(GIS)”
- T-CAT (Authentication) : Name and two surnames according to identity document (DNI / Passport) + “- DNI” + NIF of the public employee + “(AUT)”
Keep in mind that when you want to sign a PDF with your T-CAT on your card, you must select the GIS (signature) profile.
You can see the difference in this video .
